First Aid Training Kicks Off Our 2019 December Training Camp

As a new addition to the Run the Bases programme, all in-country coaches are being offered First Aid training. This is taking place before the beginning of the week-long training camp, which will involve many children and members of the local communities.

The day long training is organised by First Aid 4 Gambia, who have extensive experience of offering First Aid training to companies and individuals across Gambia. The sessions are tailored to the individual needs and take into account the different scenarios and situations that our coaches may be exposed to.

The Run the Bases team strongly believe it is very important for all of our coaches to have a basic understanding of First Aid, to ensure the safety and welfare of all those involved. At the same time, we are convinced the basic knowledge of this subject is akin to a life skill, an ability that can be transferred into different settings and scenarios. We are very proud that our in-country team are increasing their employability, and developing abilities that can help their communities as a whole.

Response from the day of training was positive, and we are now very confident that our coaches are ready and equipped to deal with any issues that should arise.
