Take a closer look at the communities we work with
We currently work with four neighbouring communities in the Kombo South region of the Gambia. We asked our coaches to tell us a bit more about where they live.
Kombo South Region
Is one of nine districts in the Gambia and is located to the South of the Gambia River in the South West of the Country.
Language
There are at least 8 different ethnic groups in the Gambia and over 10 languages spoken throughout the country.
Geography
The Gambia is one of the smallest countries in Africa. It is almost completely surrounded by Senegal with the exception of its western coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. The River Gambia runs from east to west, dividing the country in two strips of land 25 to 50 km wide and about 300 km long.
